GA United’s dues are 20 dollars a month. The membership enrollment process consists of three steps:

• Complete and sign the IEA Membership Enrollment Form to insure your membership card is issued.
• Complete and sign the SIUC Payroll Deduction Authorization Form for monthly deductions when you are in pay status.
• Mail the forms  to the GAU Treasurer or the GAU PO Box for processing.

Instructions for Completing IEA Membership Enrollment Form

This form can be filled out electronically and printed, but cannot be saved.

1. Skip the Social Security Number, but fill in your name, address, phone numbers and email addresses.
2. You should also include the demographic information, including birth date, gender, ethnicity, voter registration status, and party affiliation. (Optional)
3. Indicate payment method. If you indicate “payroll deduction,” be sure to fill out the payroll deduction authorization form.
4. As a graduate assistant whether a TA, RA, or Administrative GA, your membership category is AC-1-125. However, you can leave this for IEA staff to determine the correct category.
5. IEA staff will enter the correct Dues/Contributions amounts. The NEA FCPE amount will be entered as 0 (zero) unless you write in an amount.
6. Enter the date of signature.
7. Print out the form.
8. Write in your Social Security Number. Alternatively you may use your SIUC Employee Identification Number.
9. Sign the form.

Instructions for Completing Payroll Deduction Authorization

This form cannot be filled out electronically, so print it out and follow the printed instructions.
